Specifics of the elderly people education

The authors are concerned with the issues of involving elderly people in the modern educational process. The objective of the article is to study special aspects of the elderly people education and discuss various options to provide education for them. The research tasks have been fulfilled through the analysis of current approaches to the elderly people education. The system-oriented and structural-functional approaches are employed as a methodological basis. The article pinpoints that the personal approach plays the key role in organising the educational process engaging individual, psychological and social features of every person. The authors draw a conclusion that the main purpose of the elderly people education is to develop a person able to take an active part in all spheres of public life.
