The need for further development of a competency-based approach in higher education is noted. In this context, the tasks of forming students - future teachers and teachers of foreign languages of competencies in the field of oral scientific discourse as the basis of the research competence of the teacher are considered. An original model of teaching oral scientific pedagogical discourse is presented. Its conceptual core and implementation technique are considered, its high efficiency in improving the quality of educational and cognitive processes is reported. Attention is drawn to the need for a more constructive implementation of innovations in the field of higher education through their implementation in specific models and teaching methods.
