The article describes the features of the organization of training sessions on the course "Information culture of personality" for students of the IPCC. The issue of introducing discipline in the first year for four faculties is being considered: the Library and Information Faculty (BIF), the Faculty of State Cultural Policy (FGKP), the Choreography Faculty (HF) and the Faculty of Musical Art (FMI) with a form of reporting in the form of a differentiated credit. The author argues that the introduction of discipline in the first year is critically important, since the skills acquired in the learning process will help students from the first day when preparing for seminars in various disciplines, when writing essays, term papers, and, ultimately, in the process of writing a thesis. The article also describes a number of problems that arose during the introduction of the discipline.
