This work deals with the importance of translating world literature into the Kyrgyz language, which is important for improving the skills of translators and the aesthetic and moral education of society. The relevance of this topic lies in the fact that the translator faces the problem of translation very often. Poetic translation is considered the most complex and difficult in literary translation. When translating from one language to another, it is impossible to achieve absolute compliance with the original. Studying Pushkin’s work, especially his fairy tales, is important not only for identifying the linguistic and cultural characteristics of the people, but also for developing the idea of translation in Kyrgyzstan and the perception of Pushkin as a “mirror” reflecting the soul of the Russian people. One of Pushkin's most frequently translated fairy tales is “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish”.
