Russian sign language which is used by the deaf and hard of hearing people for interpersonal communication can be seen during any divine service in an orthodox church. Te liturgical texts are translated by the special interpreter into the sign language and so deaf and hard of hearing people have an opportunity to participate in the common prayer and sacraments of the Church. But ofen the quality of translation depends on the interpreter’s experience and knowledge. Tat’s why this article is devoted to the issues of the correct version and approach to this translation of the liturgical texts what could help optimizing the work of an interpreter and forming the most adequate translation of the prayers.
