The specifics of doctrine and especially the practice of liturgical worship and prayer make the process of repentance and churching of former Neo-Pentecostals very difficult. Leaving Neo- Pentecostalism and joining the Orthodox Church is usually the result not of targeted missionary efforts, but of the personal choice of believers. The main motivation for this lies in the sphere of personal relationships, aversion to “speaking in tongues” and other neo-Pentecostal practices, and occasionally dogmatic doubts. Former Pentecostals have experienced difficulties with icon worship, the need for the sacraments, the absence of full parish life outside the divine service, lack of understanding on the part of other believers or the priest, the habit of emotional prayer, the strictness of Orthodox worship, the use of the Church Slavonic language, the need for recognition of the sinner rather than the saint, and a more humble attitude towards the entity of the Holy Spirit. In view of the contradictions identified, the practice of the accession of Neo-Protestants to the Church needs to be unified in the Church as a whole.
