Features of the legal status of persons with special knowledge in criminal proceedings

The article reveals the legal status of an expert and a specialist as two main participants in the criminal process who apply special knowledge in criminal proceedings on the basis of existing legal acts. The characteristic abilities of an expert and a specialist are highlighted and described. It also provides a comparison of a specialist and an expert on powers, according to the сriminal procedure code of the Russian Federation.
