The paper deals with the issues of the legal status of such a participant in the criminal procedure as a person against whom the criminal case is severed into a separate proceeding due to the conclusion of a pre-trial cooperation agreement with him, the peculiarities of his participation in investigative actions and the evaluation of his testimony. The determination of the legal status of this participant in the criminal procedure is based on an analysis of Russian and foreign judicial practice, as well as legislative norms.
