In the context of a special military operation, changes in combat tactics, and the implementation of the concept of non-contact warfare, the question of the need to adjust the educational process of universities of the National Guard troops is beyond doubt. The training of future law en- forcement officers, motivated to successfully perform official and special duties, against the backdrop of a dramatically changing situation, is more relevant than ever. The article makes an attempt to reveal the features of the formation of military-professional motivation of cadets of universities of the National Guard troops at the present time. The tasks assigned to military universities and educational institutions of law enforcement agencies can be accomplished with the help of modern trends towards digitalization and convergence, and the modernization of their material and technical bases.The content of the motives that are elements of the system of formation of military-professional motivation for cadets of universities of the National Guard troops (personal, professional, military- professional) is considered. The conditions for the integration of personal and military-professional motives into the educational process of military educational institutions are determined, as well as the significance of the phenomenon of “patriotism” in the general system of training students in law enforcement agencies.
