The article examines the theoretical aspects of conducting marketing research in a telecommunications company, reveals its main tasks and stages, points out its special relationship with the strategic planning of the company's development. The analysis of the telecommunications market in the Russian Federation at the end of 2017 is presented, the main reasons for the positive trends in the sphere of mobile communications are considered.
