The experimental research of the influence of the radiation disordering on the EPR spectra of natural zircons of different genesis, differing in the degree of structural perfection. It is shown that the EPR signal of the ion-radical SiO 45- can be considered as structural probe to study the extent of the matrix zircon damage. The shape and width of its EPR lines reflect the degree of structural disordering of the mineral, allow to receive the information on the kinetics of thermal recovery patterns of radiation-damaged zircon.
