Features of the development of the economy and higher education in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution

The main content of the study is an analysis of current trends in higher education through the prism of economic transformation in the context of the formation of Industry 4.0,, an analysis of the views of researchers on problems in higher education in a situation of fundamental changes in the economy, and statistical data on the development of higher education in the modern stage. Based on the results of the study, a conclusion was made about the irreversibility of the processes of digital transformation of the economy and changes in the labor market caused by the active introduction of various modern technologies. It has been established that the role of higher education in the digital economy is becoming even higher, and therefore the solution of existing problems in it and the development of highly qualified specialists whose competencies meet market requirements will become one of the most important areas for improving higher education in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution. The scientific material on the topic under study is summarized, trends in the development of higher education and new requirements for it in the conditions of digitalization of economic processes are identified, directions for the transformation of higher education management and economics are proposed, taking into account the need for cooperation between universities and enterprises for the coordinated development of innovative potential and economy.
