Features of the development of cultural tourism in Hainan Province

Tourism as a socio-economic phenomenon is included in the sphere of actual interests of a modern man after he meets the primary needs associated with ensuring a decent standard of living. With the growth of well-being, people’s demand for travel is growing. Recently, cultural tourism has been particularly popular among citizens. Hainan Province, located in the southern region of Xinjiang in China, is rich in cultural heritage sites that can serve as a place of tourist pilgrimage. The influx of tourists will significantly contribute to the improvement of its economic situation. Due to the fact that in 2020 the province acquired the status of a free port, the economy and culture of the island are now in a stage of rapid development. Cultural tourism in Hainan is mainly recreational, focused on introducing travelers to the customs and traditions of the island province, shopping, and so on.
