Special characteristics of monotowns'' Dewelopment: retrospective aspect

The article deals with the problems of Russian monotowns when passing from command and administration to a market system. The authors conclude that the economic malaise of mono-towns is not a unique problem for Russia in whole. And an import substitution program should be based primarily on such cities.
