The article based on the archival documents characterizes the general features of religious processes on the territory of the Buryat-Mongolian (Buryat since 1958) Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the post-war Soviet period. We have analyzed the development of religious situation, as well as the features of religious processes. It is noted that currently the history of religious teachings in the region at the time under consideration is poorly studied. There are separate publications that do not give a holistic picture. We suggest that the religious processes on the territory of the Buryat-Mongolian (Buryat) ASSR in the post-war Soviet period are similar to those on the territory of the neighboring Chita Oblast: only one functioning Orthodox church, a few clergymen, one Buddhist datsan, similar quantitative data on the rituals and income of the registered religious associations. It is noted that the problem stated in the article requires serious further analysis based on reliable sources, primarily on archival documents. Given the small number of archival affairs on religious processes in the territory of the Buryat (Buryat- Mongolian) Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the post-war Soviet period in the regional archives, the emphasis should be placed on the funds of national repositories.
