Features of the development of Soviet tank building in the pre-war and war years (during the Great Patriotic War)

The article examines the state of Soviet tank building from the second half of the 1930s to the end of the Great Patriotic War. The reasons for the lagging of this industry are identified and measures to eliminate them during the war are described. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the evolution of Soviet tanks in the context of military operations, which revealed the shortcomings and advantages in the design and mass production of military equipment. The study uses an interdisciplinary approach: data from history and technical disciplines are used.
