Based on archival materials, the article focuses on the specifics of implementation of Soviet decrees concerning school education in ethnic districts of Kamchatka in the 1930s against the background of the events that took place both in the Soviet Union in general and in Kamchatka in particular. The analysis of newspaper articles based on the memories of teachers who worked in Kamchatka in the 1930s helped the author to describe numerous difficulties faced by the teachers at the study period.
