The article deals with the peculiarities of speech portraits of British politicians (for example, Boris Johnson). It is noted that the speech portrait is, on the one hand, a reflection of the speech preferences of a political personality in specific communicative situations with the aim of realizing certain intentions, which is manifested in various communicative strategies and tactics, the use of stylistic means, and on the other hand, it is a set of personal characteristics that make the speech of a political figure is recognizable. A conclusion was made that the features of the speech portrait of Boris Johnson are the presence of speech clichés, the use of precedent names, which indicate erudition, the presence of background knowledge, political education, and the use of language games.
