To the problem of religious beliefs of the Ugric peoples in the Urals and Volga region in the Middle Ages

The article extends a problem of religious beliefs of the Ugric people in the Cis-Urals area in the Middle Ages. This problem acquires a new meaning through the use of new sources. The observations of the authors based on data from written and archaeological sources. The authors conclude that religious beliefs of the medieval Ugric people in the Cis-Urals area represented one of the forms of shamanism which had much in common with the beliefs of other peoples of Finno-Ugric language group.
