The author of a work of art manifests itself through idiosteal, conditioned by an individual vision of the world and certain pragmatic attitudes, therefore, when studying a text of art, it seems necessary to consider the particular manifestations of the speaker’s “ego”. The article is devoted to identifying the characteristics of the representation of one of the incarnations of the speaker in the narrative - the observer. The features of the observer’s perception of the landscape, the spatial position of the speaker-observer in relation to the observed object are identified: the observer may be in the space of the situation and be synchronous to it or may be at some distance, both spatial and temporal, from the observed object. The language means of explication of the observer in speech such as “description” and “narration” are considered. The work shows how in the work of IA Bunin "First Love" observer during the deployment of the text undergoes changes, which is reflected in different levels of the text: semantic, grammatical, compositional.
