Features of the semantic structure of Russian and English verbs expressing possessive situation of winning and losing

This paper considered the antinomic pattern "winning - losing" in the Russian and English lingual cultures, with the verbs to win and to lose taken for core representatives; and provided the semantic analysis of these verbs. The author focused on the comparative analysis of the antinomic patterns in the Russian and English lingual cultures.
