The features of family relations in the modern Yakut society

The family as an institution performing important functions of reproduction, education, socialization, transmission of values, norms and customs to the succeeding generations, is undergoing significant changes in the modern world. The article discusses some of the features of modern transformations of the family relations in the Yakut society: attitude to marriage and family, society’s expectations, value of the family, redistribution of social roles within the family.
