The first study involved fifth-graders, the present study - sixth-graders: the first contingent consisted of 92 students, the second - 93. In preliminary individual experiments and in the main group experiments, the author’s “Inference” technique was used. It was shown that cognitive meta-subject competencies associated with the meaningful production of reasoning, the implementation of meaningful cognitive reflection and the development of effective methods for solving problems were formed in the first contingent of subjects to a significantly greater extent than in the second contingent. In the future, a similar study will be conducted with seventh graders.
