The purpose of this study is to consider the contribution of A.S. Yashchenko to the development of the synthetic approach to law. The methodological synthesis of legal doctrines and the synthetic definition of law are substantiated. The paper analyzes the ideological similarity of A.S. Yashchenko and V.S. Solovyov’s legal views, the trends in the development of the synthetic approach to law at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The study provides a methodological analysis of the crisis phenomena in philosophical knowledge and jurisprudence conducted by A.S. Yashchenko, identifies the negative effects of a monistic approach to such a complex phenomenon as law. The research shows that the existing approaches to fundamental concepts are restricted by the opposing theories of law. The authors review the implementation of the synthetic approach by A.S. Yashchenko based on the principle of unity, holistic knowledge, and pluralism.
