The instability and social differentiation of modern society together with economic disintegration and deideologization of the educational process have intensified the problem of educating the younger generation. Developing personality in a child is a complex problem that has not only social and pedagogical aspects but also a socio-cultural one. The importance of children socialization as a social and cultural process is increased due to its special role, that is to develop the personality as a phenomenon that integrates intellectual, emotional, sensual and activity spheres. The aim of the paper is to reveal the nature, characteristic features, structure and content of the socio-cultural development process as a factor of socio-cultural development. To achieve the aim the methods of analysis and comparison were used. The features of the socio-cultural deve-lopment of a person in childhood as a socialization process were revealed. The target, content, motivational, practical, assessment components were singled out and characterized from the system structure of a person socialization in childhood. The materials can be used at different levels of education by teachers, students, post-graduates of professional education institutions and those who are engaged in solving problems of socio-cultural and pedagogical development.
