Features of social and psychological adaptation of students with a high level of anxiety

The article theoretically substantiates the problem of socio-psychological adaptation of students to study at a university. The article presents the results of a study conducted at the end of 2020 with the aim of identifying the features of adaptation of first-year students with a high level of anxiety. For the diagnosis, two tests were used: "Socio-psychological adaptation (R. Rogers and R. Diamond) and" Test for the study of anxiety "(C. D. Spielberg and L. Khanin). Statistical processing was carried out using the r-Pearson correlation test. It was found that a high level of anxiety among students is associated with increased emotional discomfort, feelings of uncertainty, depression. Highly anxious students have more pronounced internal locus of control and low self-esteem in the situation of assessing their competence .
