Features of the social position of the technical intelligence in Soviet society

The article is devoted to the analysis of the social status of the engineering and technical intelligence in the USSR. Its educational structure, professional identities, as well as regional and historical features are considered. It is established that despite the high prestige, this social group faced problems of bureaucratization and limited career opportunities depending on the region.
