Social stratification features in modern Russia

The article identifies the features, the complexity, the multiorientaion and the originality of the social structure of the modern Russian society which have been identified by the authors as a result of the analysis of publications on this theme and the official statistics data. The authors conclude that the stratification based on Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) data is inadequate. The various social groups are in different social, economic and legal conditions.
