Features of coping strategies in students promo to dysmorphophobia

This article examines the role of satisfaction with appearance and the concept of dysmorphophobia (dysmorphomania), which is defined as a painful, obsessive dissatisfaction with a person's appearance and the desire to correct flaws. The modern understanding of the phenomenon of dysmorphic phobia is presented, the main diagnostic criteria are considered, among which the expressed concern about appearance, anxiety, depressive experiences, voluntary social isolation, the desire to correct the defect are highlighted. The psychological aspect of the development of dysmorphic phobia is considered on the basis of a number of personal characteristics, which include low self-esteem, anxiety, suggestibility. Coping strategies found in women who are dissatisfied with their own appearance are described. The result of the analysis was the actualization of the problem of studying coping strategies in people with manifestations of dysmorphic phobia.
