Peculiarities in using onomastic classifier within the topic “city”

Proper nouns, reflecting the national culture and peculiarities of the national mentality, hold the special position in the intercultural communication. As practice shows, frequently proper nouns are semantically self-sustainable even within the intracultural communication and demand the explanation (“disambiguation”). Simultaneously the requirement of onomastic classifier is growing, which actually serves as the explanation (“explicator”). In particular the topic “City” gives the best opportunity to understand the onomastic classifier as the linguistic phenomenon.
