Water status of some plant species in tropical forest of South Vietnam during wet season

Basic parameters of the water balance (the rate of transpiration, water deficit, and saturating water content), of the six understory and young undergrowth species of the tropical monsoonal forest during wet seasons were studied. We defined two groups of species. The first well-adapted group is characterized by the stability of the water balance, while the second group has unstable water status due to the competition with other species of this plant association.
