Features of the initiation of criminal cases on crimes related to the change of marking designations of vehicles

The concept of ensuring and conducting a complete, comprehensive and objective pre-investigation check implies an important, multi-stage work of inves-tigative units and bodies of inquiry. One of the priorities of law enforcement agencies in the course of pre-investigation verification is the procedural solution of the issue of the need to initiate a criminal case (or refusal) at the pre-trial stage of criminal proceedings. In the article, based on the analysis of law enforcement practice, the main reasons for initiating criminal cases on crimes related to chang-ing the marking designations of vehicles are systematized. Also, in order to make a reasoned legal decision and increase the effectiveness of the investigation of these criminal cases, we will determine the algorithm of priority actions of the in-vestigator (inquirer), the body of inquiry when reviewing a report on a crime of the investigated orientation.
