Some features of the lens hood’s exposure to reflected solar irradiance

We studied the flare of lens hoods of optical-electronic devices of a spacecraft under reflected solar irradiance. The phenomenon was simulated by the Monte Carlo framework POKC-RG, specifically designed to solve the optical radiation transfer equation in threedimensional geometry. As it was shown that the standard conservative estimations of the angular radiation area providing an acceptable lens flare are typically too strict we proposed a way to improve it.
