The relevance of research on this topic is higher than ever. The situation in the world has greatly affected the lives of the population, particularly those working in extreme fields. The involvement of employees from various law enforcement agencies requires them to quickly mobilize their resources, make the right decisions in extreme situations that are limited by strict timeframes, and work productively in a team, among other things. While these qualities should be developed and demonstrated in everyday life, the specific conditions of their work impose their own rules, which are exacerbated by factors such as suddenness, aggression, and limited resources. Studying the relationship between vitality and professional burnout will help us understand which affective components we should pay attention to in order to maintain our professional identity and harmony. Objective: to establish the relationship between the features of vitality and the components of professional burnout in employees who perform tasks in special conditions of service. Materials and methods: The study involved employees of extreme professions who perform service tasks in special conditions. The sample consisted of 47 employees. The average age was 37 years. The methods used in the study include the Professional Burnout Questionnaire for Law Enforcement Officers (K. Maslach, S. Jackson, adapted by N.E. Vodopyanova) and the Vitality of an Extreme Specialist (VSEksP) by S.V. Kotovskaya. Conclusions: The most pronounced inverse relationship between emotional exhaustion and vitality has been established. An increased level of exhaustion is directly associated with a significant decrease in key manifestations of vitality: energy potential, motivational activity, and the ability to experience positive emotions. The main negative impact of depersonalization on vitality is not directly realized, but indirectly – through the mechanism of increasing emotional exhaustion.
