Special economic zones as a factor of regional development

The scientific article is devoted to the consideration of special economic zones as a factor in regional development. The purpose of scientific research is to study the territories of advanced development as the most important tool for the development of regions. The scientific article defines the tasks of the study: to get acquainted with the conceptual framework of special economic zones, to assess the impact of special economic zones on regional development, to propose methods to increase the efficiency of regions in the form of creating special economic zones in the regions using the example of existing federal territories. The paper uses comparison and modeling methods, an abstraction method, an observation method, and a description method. The basic concepts and characteristics of special economic zones were studied, the impact of the development of priority development territories on the regions of the Russian Federation was assessed. Taking into account the results of the study, it was noted that by creating special economic zones in the regions, the indicators of investment, technological, innovation attractiveness increase and give significant results compared to other instruments of regional development.
