The article is devoted to the study of acute pancreatitis. The article presents a brief review of the literature on this issue. Describes the concept of acute pancreatitis, factors affecting the development of acute pancreatitis, the pathogenesis of the disease and symptomatology. A clinical case from surgical practice is also described.
