Development of hydrocarbon resources of the Russian Arctic as a factor in the intensification of navigation along the northern sea route

The article discusses the impact of the exploitation and transportation of hydrocarbon resources of the Arctic region of the Russian Federation on marine activities along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the context of analytical studies of priority areas of development. Regular hydrocarbon tanker transport operations were analysed in accordance with NSR, and a number of outstanding problems related to the provision of transport infrastructure for NSRs were addressed. The study justifies the implementation of a project for the integrated development of NSRs through the establishment of a full and effective marine structure.
