From library institute to all-Russian scientific, educational and creative centre: to the 65th anniversary of East Siberian State Institute of Culture.

The article considers the main milestones and key events in the 65-year history of East Siberian state institute of culture. It focuses on the challenges that the higher educational institution faces in modern conditions and presents the results of its educational, scientific and creative activities. The role of ESSIC as an educational institution as well as a multifunctional scientific, creative and educational centre in the east of the country is defined.
