The article considers Bulgakov’s plays “Bliss” and “Ivan Vasilyevich” in the context of the literary process and taking into account the creative history of works. In Bulgakov’s plays, the carnival worldview associated with the critical view of the author not only on the present, but also on the prospects of social progress was manifested. His works are intricately intertwined comedic and dramatic, lyrical and satirical, tragic and farcical.
