The article is devoted to problems of correlation of trends of unitarization and federalization in the process of transformation of the Habsburg Empire during the XV-XIX centuries. The main stages of transformation of the Imperial system in Alps-Danube region related to the transition from the Habsburg Empire through the Austrian Empire to Austria-Hungary. Define the important factors and characteristics of transformation processes.
