From empirics to science-based actions in the field of waste processing in the Republic of Buryatia

Based on the study of the global environmental agenda in the materials of the 1972 Stockholm International Scientific Conference, the reports of the Club of Rome, as well as the experience of advanced countries in waste management, we have systematized a list of principles and rules for the organization, processing and disposal of waste in a municipality. The article presents an analysis of the organization of waste management in the Republic of Buryatia. We have identified the problem areas and proposed measures to eliminate them. This global problem has two aspects: the first is a permanent depletion of natural resources, and the second - the accumulation of huge volumes of waste products (solid, liquid, carbon).
