The term “manageability” is used in many sciences and academic disciplines and has always been the object of lively research interest. This paper aims to conceptualize the phenomenon of manageability in technical sciences, management, sociology, psychology, pedagogy, political science, with a particular focus on political and sociological analysis. The subject of this research is the dynamics and boundaries of changes in the content of the term “manageability” in modern socio-humanitarian knowledge. The research method is a theoretical and comparative analysis of approaches to conceptualizing the phenomenon of manageability. As a result of the author's analysis, a semantic difference between the most common designations of the term “manageability” is revealed: governability, manageability, controllability. A characteristic of each meaning is given, as well as their hierarchy is presented depending on the nature of the interaction between the subject and the object of control, as well as the level and type of social relations. The mechanism of controllability transition from direct controllability to active interaction of subjects and self-organization is revealed. The novelty of the author's research lies in a comprehensive analysis and systematization of approaches to the conceptualization of the term “manageability” in the field of sociology, political science, economics, psychology, pedagogy, as well as in identifying interdependencies in understanding this phenomenon.
