IN the context of language structure and national character interconnection national language is interpreted as a "code" fixing specifics of national consciousness in its lexics and grammar structure. Definitions of "linguistic consciousness" and "national mentality" are given, difference between them are explained; possibilities of national mentality and individual world-view change by means of bilingualism are discussed.
