The selection of respondents for psychological research

The article examines the nature of representative sample of students based on the cross-cultural research of the scientists at Cardiff University (England), attended by 84 thousand people from 59 countries with the aim to reveal the differences between students and the general public as respondents of both national and international surveys. In the course of the study psychological parameters applied to comparative and social psychology are used. The analysis of the results of the surveys has revealed that the data obtained are different in both groups across countries.
