Long-term results of endoscopic biliary stenting with plastic and self-expanding metallic stents for malignant obstructive jaundice

Бесплатный доступ

The goal is to identify opportunities for endoscopic retrograde biliary stenting in malignant obstructive jaundice and compare long-term results of stenting using plastic and self-expanding metal stents. Total number of patients were 160 people, which divided to two groups of 80 patients. In the 1st group we used plastic biliary stents with a diameter of 3-3.5 mm (10-11.5 Fr), in the 2nd group we used covered self-expanding metal stents with a diameter of 10 mm (30Fr). All patients had non-resectable pancreatobiliary tumors III-IV stage, not for the surgical radical or palliative treatment. These patients were treated with plastic or metal self-expanding biliary stent as the final treatment.
