The article deals with the problems of legal regulation of the restriction of the right of citizens to freedom and personal integrity during the conduct of operational-search activities by employees of the operational units of the internal affairs bodies. Attention is drawn to the administrative and legal nature of the relevant powers of operational officers, the limited possibility of its application, the differences in its content in relation to different bodies authorized to carry out operational-search activities. Proposals are made to improve the operational-search legislation within the framework of the issues raised.
