A reduction in the defense budget, toughening competition and price pressure from competitors lead to the need to adjust the business strategy of the defense enterprise. First of all, this involves the search for new market opportunities, namely, product and geographical diversification, focus on civilian production, in order to maintain uniformity and increase cash flow. Despite the fact that the question of the need to diversify defense enterprises was raised at the highest level several years ago, no active steps were taken by enterprises in this direction. The article attempts to summarize the problems that the defense sector is facing in expanding its presence in the civilian products market.
