Technologies and mechanisms for theming space in literary hotels

Literary hotels are an important part of literary destinations. They are able create a unique literary experience. Literary hotels can be an independent attraction, attracting tourists and visitors. At the same time, poor quality service in a literary hotel and a discrepancy between the concept and the content negatively impress guests and create incorrect image of the destination as a whole. Therefore, the article is focused on the mechanisms for thematization of hotel space in literary tourism. To do this, the authors study the experience of various literary hotels and systematize the key techniques for theming space. Feedback study made it possible to identify the key complaints and requests of guests towards literary hotels in the global context and on the Russian market. The authors created a model of a literary hotel theming mechanism. The basic quality of service and comfort of stay are the main condition for successful literary hotel theming, and thematic design of the hotel and its places, as well as conceptualization and thematization techniques are the additional superstructures. Using a combination of all these elements of the model makes the literary hotel efficient, gives the possibility to be a separate tourist attraction, influencing the destination image, implementing its own tourist program and serving as a place attractive not only for city guests, but also for local residents.
