“Revelation of the innermost”: a review of Theodore of Mopsuestia's quotations in the first volume of the collected writings of Isaac the Syrian based on Syrian sources

The article is the second stage of the study, in which, with the help of textual, philological and exegetical analysis, fragments interpolated in the manuscripts of the East Syriac version are revealed. Manuscripts of the Melkite (Orthodox) version are introduced into scientific circulation, which were not all available to Paul Bezhdan, but which he considered as containing interpolations of Monophysite scribes, and it is characteristic that P. Bezhdan did not leave a special comment on the discrepancy between names. Nevertheless, the names of the holy fathers, which are found in the manuscripts of the Melkite edition, are identified without much difficulty. At the end of the article, examples of the presence of polemics with Theodore of Mopsuestia in the texts of St. Isaac the Syrian. This fact is an additional argument in favor of the opinion that the East Syriac scribes subjected to certain editing the writings of St. Isaac for a more acceptable adaptation of them in their tradition.
