Reflection of historical context in urban communication space of Volgograd

The article deals with the verbal and nonverbal ways of reference of the important historical events in the urban landscape of Volgograd. The analysis of urban communication space allowed to distinguish the six thematic groups associated with the history of the city: Don Cossacks, war-time past, the heritage of V.I. Lenin, twin-city movement, international relations and local colour.
